I made a similar comment just like him way back a few months ago and you practically attempted to kill me. Why is it funny when he pokes at the resources of the canadian Military ? happy:

Well, you typed shit out. This is a video for mercer;s show and really, all they said is that we wear green camo in the desert. I could tell you why, but nobody cares anymore. I can go on and on about all the things i know, and its not going to change anyones mind. i've just stopped caring. i don't get involved in us candada flame wars, i could care less. there are a lot of ignant people around, and i feel sory for them, but I can't change them. Perhaps if I met them in real life I would haev a converstaion with them, but chances are their 13 years old and i'll never meet them in my life, so what do I care? I like to educate people, yes, but if someone doesn't want to hear it, i'm not going to shove it down their throat. when i do get involved in touchy subjects, or flame wars, i try to voice my opinion in a knowledgeable and courteous way.

First time we went to Afghanistan, we did not hae enough Desert camo to go around since the pattern was so new.
However this time, every soldier in Roto 0 has 2 or 3 pair of Tempered Woodland (Green) CADPAT, as well as 2 or 3 pair of Arid CADPAT (Brown). So the soldiers get to choose which they want to wear. This depends on a number of things.
1) A lot of work is done at night time. Desert uniforms can be picked up more easily by the naked eye and by night vision. Therefore, the darker uniforms at night are better.
2) There are trees in Afghanistan. Yes it is a desert, but there is quite a bit of shrubs and things like that.
3) To distinguish the Canadians from the rest of the international troops. Especially the Americans. Not to be disrespectful or anything, but a lot of people don't like the US. I'm sure a lot of people in Afghanistan don't like Canadians or other western countries either, but if we wear desert camo, we could be mistaken for US troops and become targets.
4) Higher ups tell you to put on the TW camo.
