Default Browser Hijack Help damnit - 01-28-2004, 09:53 AM

I had my browser hijacked by something that changes my homepage and deletes my fav list and replaces them with others. I use adware 6.0 updated and Sure Clean Professional What the hell is goin on here?

I had Backdoor Trojan, did the same thing...bunch of pop ups, spy bot did shit, so did adaware, got spysweeper and problem solved oOo:

Thanks a lot for the help. I'm gonna do my best to kill this. I have a friend that has the same problem. Tried verything it seems like. Maybe this will do it. If I ever meet anyone who says they make or made spyware I am honestly gonna kick the shit out of them.

Thanks for the advice but I have a girlfriend and no I dont visit free porn sites... (anymore rolleyes: )

That fixed it Bad Script. Thank god. Thanks for all the help guys. I'm def downloading some more spyware killing programs.

As for my friend who has the same problem, its called I-lookup and hotsearch. I dunno if he visits porn sites. I'm gonna try and help him 2. It really pisses me off. I havent been this mad in a long time. It seized his computer almost entirely.

Same thing happened to me and is still happening. I just dl the free version of norton and it found 119 infected files and was only able to delete 3 of them. So i have 116 infected files on my computer and i dont know how to get rid of them. Also i have this thing from messagebroadcaster that replaces alot of the images on websites with there popups. Like on gamespot.com, all the pictures are replaced with popups. Anyone know how to fix this?

Yeah that's cool. But follow the instructions on that page to set the security settings on your browser so you dont go through that again because according to that coolwebsearch is a variant of several trojans.
