Default Network card question - 03-03-2004, 05:48 PM

I have a 3-4 years old 3Com Network Card,my connection isn't steady every 5 minutes I got logged out, then back on line 5 minutes later.this is all day long 24 Hrs a day.
I call RCN,they said that my connection was fine,it could be my Network Card.
Any thoughts about it ?

Thanks

also could be a cable or a port on your switch/router if you're using one. try a new cable and nic if you buy online shouldn't cost you more than $20 for both.

is it a, b, or g? might be a problem with that, doubt it though because if you can even be connected they most likely are the same, g is compatable with all though, if im not mistaken...i would just buy a new NIC, they arent terribly expensive.

What makes you think he's using wireless ? Especially since the card is 3-4
years old...
