Is Saddam's trial a good thing for the U.S. or a bad thing? (and for Bush)
on the one hand your putting away a bad person, but on the other hand your gonna have a lot of stuff come up about no WMD's and no terrorist link and a whole bunch of crap to make the U.S. look bad.
no flames please, list some good and bad points yourself.
I don't think it really has much bearing on the government in the US.. election-wise. It's hard to say, though.. the liberals here seem to be trying VERY hard to find ANYTHING wrong with the trial so that they can blame Bush for it in some roundabout way.
I'd just like everyone to remember that the current interim Iraqi government was chosen by Iraqis and made the decision on how a trial would be carried out - based loosely on British judicial processes - and carrying out the trial.

I dont think Saddams trial will have anything to do with Bush or America or WMD's. The US is actually trying to avoid having anything to do with the trial to show that the Iraqis are in control. The trial will be about crimes against humanity, not about terrorism or secret WMD's.

He'll (Saddam) will most likely bring America, WMD, etc up.
