I have a Creative Labs sound card and it comes with software called Creative Recorder.. Just change the input, hit record and you got yourself a .wav recording.. If you have a Creative Labs card that software should be included I would think.. If it wasnt I believe you can download it with the latest drivers from their website..

You could use sound recorder on your comp. Just set your mic settings to Stereo Mix instead of Microphone in the control panel. However these will be in wav form and not mp3. You could alway get a wav -> mp3 converter though if can't get any other solutions.
