Default Photoshop Problem - 01-03-2005, 07:05 PM

When I re-installed I forgot to check a few certain file types. I don't have .bmp on my list and I need to open a file that is that type. Is there a way I can get Photoshop to open it or re-open that list and check it without re-installing?

Wrong Forum, I don't think you can without reinstalling, cause it may have to install certain things to read them.

It's the right forum. Sig Test is for Art work and introduction.

Didn't work m00nraker.

Photoshop help seems much more reasonable in the "ART" forum..

This will work. Right-click file....Open with....Choose Program....Select Photoshop....Check the box that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"

or

Start....All Programs....Photoshop....File.....Open....Browse away eek:

I know how to open files its just I forgot to configure Photoshop while installing to open .bmp files. I need to know how to get it to without reinstalling. Although it looks like I will have to now.

If you choose "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" one time, why would you have to reinstall? Anytime you wanted to open a .bmp in photoshop, all you would have to do is double-click the file. biggrin:
