4 Year old drives... -

To the video store....I screamed BS at first when i saw this, but bleh...
[quote:2b466]SAND LAKE, Mich. - A boy drove his mother's car to a video store in the middle of the night, police said — and he's all of 4 years old.
Even though he was unable to reach the accelerator, the boy managed to put the car in gear and the idling engine provided enough power to take him slowly to the store, a quarter-mile from his home, about 1:30 a.m. Friday, Police Chief Doug Heugel said. Finding the store closed, the youngster began a slow trip home.
Weaving and with its headlights off, the car got the attention of police Sgt. Jay Osga, who initially thought he was following a driverless car that had taken off after being left running at a gas pump.[/quote:2b466]

reminds me of an article i read once years ago about a 20 minute tri-state auto chase between the cops and a fourteen year old who couldn't get the car he stole out of first gear, evidently he eventually burned the clutch out. guessing the cops down there in the south were laughing to hard to set up a road block with using a couple pylons.

i had to do the old sneak out a 12 ( you make like you're going to the bathroom and then flush the toilet to cover the creaking stairs, sneak out the basement window) then throw the car in neutral and push it with one foot out the door . thank god mom never drove manual.

LOL. That's one talented kid. I remember my dad let me steer the car in his lap when I was four. I ran it directly into a brick wall.
