Default Brothers In Arms goes Gold - 02-24-2005, 03:52 PM

http://www.brothersinarmsgame.com/us/fu ... p?id=10109

SAN FRANCISCO – February 24, 2005 - Ubisoft™, one of the world's top game publishers, and acclaimed developer Gearbox Software, today announced that Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30™, the highly-anticipated World War II game, has gone gold and will soon be on store shelves. With its breakthrough squad-based combat and unprecedented authenticity, Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 is poised to revolutionize the WWII genre when it ships on the Xbox® video game system March 1. Both the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and PC versions will be shipping to stores shortly after. The pre-order campaign is currently under way for the title at the manufacturer's suggested retail price of $49.99.

Created by Gearbox Software, Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 is the most authentic WWII shooter ever, earning endorsements from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation and the Patton Museum. Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 is based on the true story of the 101st Airborne paratroopers who led the D-Day invasion and will immerse gamers in the gritty, uncensored and emotionally-charged side of war. The game’s missions have been crafted using after action reports, aerial reconnaissance images, and eye-witness accounts, much of which is included in over five hours of bonus extras. Players of all skill levels can battle their way through twenty epic single player chapters or go online and challenge their friends with ten competitive and innovative multiplyer missions.

I haven't been following this game at all. I got kind of tired of WWII shooters a while back and first person shooters in general It seems like the WWII and Vietnam thing has been done to death now. I have watched a few videos for it, and it worries me a bit. The whole squad tactics thing is hopefully implemented well and easy to use. I would definetly like to see these types of games if it can be done properly. Hopefully this is one of those games. I will check it out when it comes out for sure.

This may get old in a week, from what I've seen. Unless the AI is as replayable as they say. Hurry up BF2 and Imperial Glory.

The MP seems uber gay to me...2 people per team controlling 5 players each.

a total of 4 people in a room at once = fucking gay

Well, I agree that alot of fps's get old very quick, the one thing I liked hearing about (which i don't know for sure) is that it has large maps, can anyone confirm this?

I mean I love teamwork and battling but sometimes its great to go exploring in fileds for no reason, i love doin that.......... angel:

From what I've seen it's gonna be one of the best WW2 fps ever. Until of course ( common knowledge ) it's players get tired of it or there's zero mod support. With the exception of how nyck said the MP is going to be, it sounds pretty sweet. But personally, MP outweights SP ( that is once SP gets old. I personally LOVE SP. But since SP usually doesn't have replayability, which gets you your money's worth... ) to me in the end.

It's definately common knowledge that a game is going to get old after awhile, but there's been so many WW2 fps games. Hopefully this one can break some kind of mold. Here's some vids, which may answer some of your questions Miyagi. freak:
