Default air conditioning question - 05-18-2005, 03:54 PM

ok, so the hot weather is on it's way this weekend and I know it's going to continue to be hot, I want to put in my AC from last year in my window, is there anything I should do to it before turning it on? I've never done this before. should I just plug it in some outlet and have it run for a bit?

Open window.
Place AC unit on window sill.
Go out in the yard and pick up AC unit.

There should be some mounting brackets that were included with the unit. Hope you saved them.............and the instructions.

Buck, from some of the suggestions, it's seems you are loved !!

Place unit in window and don't turn on right away. Let it sit for a few hours so the lubricating oil inside settles. Then crank it up and hang some meat from the ceiling.

for extra support, if you think that your window cannot support the weight of the ac unit, use a 2by4 to prop up under the ac unit outside, just a ghetto thing that might help.... beer:

Also make sure it is angled down on the outside slightly. If you don't, the water that collects will drain into your house.
