Don't really see a lot of point in it, intels too loaded to be affected by this even if they don't win it. hake:

*sigh* here is how the convo would traditionally go from here on
Me: Shut up you are stupid, Intel > AMD any day
You: No way, look at this: http://www.linktoamdpropaganda.com
Me: Yeah well look at this, it totally proves that wrong: http://www.intelpropaganda.com
You: That is nothing but lies!
<insert flame wars here>
Zoner: STFU Both of you, LOCKT!
So instead of going though that process, I am going to walk away here.

Depends how you look at it, theres a lot of people that will buy intel simply for the fact its intel. And to the average buyer an intel cpu thats advertised as 3ghz will seem to be faster than an amd cpu running at 2.8 or so.
Hyperthreadings also an advantage, amd cpu's can choke when running multiple apps, intels remain smooth because of hyperthreading.
When it comes to overclocking intel decimates amd cpu's, a 1ghz overclock or more is possible with certain p4's, i don't know if its possible for an amd cpu to even get half that without going to phase change cooling which is pretty expensive compared to common watercooling for a p4.
Ive had both brands, amd and intel, considering an amd next time around just for a change. they both have their plus points and negatives, i can't really say one completly "owns" the other because its not the case.

that is all true, but then you can take the FX-57, compare it to whatever the top is for intel and it totally beats it in most game tests.

It may beat it in some game tests but if you're already getting a playable framerate does it really matter? Its just bragging rights really. Its like a 6800 getting 200fps in call of duty and an x800 getting 170 fps in call of duty, both are well over 60 fps so anything extra is basically for bragging rights.
If you spend all day running 3d mark then its something to be concerned about, if not then it doesn't make much difference in real life situations i don't think.

hmm I always heard amd for the over clockers, not intel. at least 2 years ago inrtel were shit for over clocking compared to amd, it was intel that needed massive cooling not amd.

Intel have been better for overclocking since the rollout of the northwood core p4 cpu's. You can get a 1ghz overclock out of some of them with aircooling. The prescott core runs hot but its more the fact that the cpu stresses components on the motherboard more than a regular northwood cpu.
