Audioslave -
10-03-2005, 08:42 PM
Un-fucking-believable concert last night. If they ever come through your city, see them! (sorry for shitty pics. I really need a digi cam)
Seether opened up for them:
They had a tribute for Dimebag Darrell from Pantera and Dave Williams from Drowning Pool with the song "Fine Again." They asked the crowd to "light this place up with lighters and cell phones" You can't really see the cell phones at all in the pic, and only a few lighters, but it was really cool to see the entire place alive with little tiny dots.

Couple other Seether pics:

Seether's set looked really Nirvana - In Utero-esque. You can kinda make out the white face in the center of the stage. It had Seether scraped in the forehead. The column in the paper today said they we're just a copy cat band of Nirvana, which I could see someone saying, but they were still good.

Audioslave came out a 9:00 and opened with "Your time has come".

They basically played the entire beginning half of their second album. Then the lights went dark and when they came on again, there was a huge banner...

Soundgarden!
They played Spoonman and one other song I can't remember now. Then the banner went up and everyone was sad... until they played some more Audioslave tunes. I must say that I have read some people saying Chris' voice isn't as good as it used to be... and that may be true since this is my first time seeing him live, but I thought he sounded great last night. And the guitar playing by Tom was amazing. That guy can really play.
When I listened to the audioslave albums prior to seeing the concert, I never really thought of any parallels between RATM and Audioslave. After seeing Tom go to work last night, I can see his style is definitely in there. You can hear a bit of RATM in there which I think is good.
Then the lights went dark...and there was:

Rage!
I was secretly waiting for this just as much as Audioslave. I love Rage pretty much the same as I love Audioslave. They played the first song without Chris, and it was wicked, although I can't remember what it was, I think it might have been a mix of a couple songs and riffs. Chris came back and sang and I think they played "take the Power back".

After that, the Red star went away and they continued to play Audioslave.
For the encore, Chris came out and played three acoustic songs including Black hole Sun which was amazing.

Then the whole band came out and they played some stuff from Audioslaves first album, and then played "Killing in the name of" which was awesome. Chris got the entire crowd into it "And now you do what they told ya."
The band ended with a hardcore version of Chochise.
They played for at least 1 hour and 45 minutes.
I was at the Foo Fighters concert a couple months ago and this surpassed that easily. Awesome stuff.

Wicked, I've always loved Soundgarden never really got into Audioslave, although I enjoy what I've heard from them.

the singer of Seether also sounds EXACTLY like Kurt Cobain.
hence why Seether blows.
but i like Audioslave, especially if they play Soundgarden and Rage stuff, so it must of been an awesome concert. i dont think Chris Cornell could replace Zach though.

In 7th grade I saw RATM and Wu-Tang... they were awesome then, I'm sure this was just as good.

Damn, I envy you ninty. I love Audioslave. I listened to Soundgarden when I was a kid, and I liked everything about Rage except Zach, I hated his voice.

His voice, the guitar, and their political charge are what made RAGE, taking nay one of those key elements out makes it nothing.

It all plays into itself, the Rage in his voice (if you ever noticed)....It all mixes in.

I don't think you're getting me. eek: Rage is fine on most people, political shit whatever, I'm saying his VOICE is bad. As in, he's a shitty singer. As in, he sounds like a garbage disposal ripping a cat into a thousand peices.
