Default Hdd partitioning gone wrong! - 05-17-2006, 12:04 PM

i had to uninstall windows xp a while back and i cheated myself of a few gbs of hd space. wallbash: My hdd is 150 gb. I had 30 gb of used space before i reinstalled windows. Well that 30 gb i couldn't get back for ANYTHING!. When i was setting it up, i formatted, partitioned and did everything correctly or so it seemed. The cmos settings were saying that i only had 127 gb of space remaining even though this hdd is 150+ gb's. I was just wondering what, if anything i could do to get those 30 gb back... just in case i needed them for something important (...). It's really not that big of deal (hence the reasoning behind me posting this "problem" 5 months later) but i'd really like to know if there is a way that i can get the extra space back w/o having to resintall/partition/reformatting the drive.

Thanks in advance!

try removing the partition, see what the drive space come out to. if that fails, check the bios, if that fails copy and reformat. however if it does work repartition and you should be good as new

hey sniper, i just used the extra 21 gb of space and created it as a new partition. I figured that would be easier than deleting this main partition which has all my files stored on it.

Thanks for your help man!
