Warm air is less dense than cold air, therefore it rises. Cool air is more dense, so it sits on the bottom. That is why a basement is colder than an attic, and that is why baloons float.

In a hotter climate the heat makes the water expand more, making the water spread more when it hits something and saturates it. Just picture spilling a drink on hot pavement and it goes everywhere and shit and freezing cold pavement it will not spread everywhere and such. Goddamn just fucking google it.
