Family campaigner Lynette Burrows defended parents' rights to smack children, saying the pendulum had "swung too far."

"Children need smacking ... nature teaches us all throughout our lives by a small input of pain," she told PA.

"If we do not have a small input of pain, children would never survive the first two years of their lives when they are learning to walk."

AMEN! Preach on, sistah!

A swat on the arse is what kids need these days. Don't beat the jeezus out of 'em, just put the fear of God into them with an occasional crack. No harm in it.

I would/will spank my kids as needed. They know this. That being said i have only had to do it twice in thier lifetimes. I guarentee you if they met you on the street they would treat you with respect (except Jin-Roh and Pyro of course) because I have raised them to be respectful of others unlike alot of parents out there. The fear of punishment is what kids need. These pampered little brats need a good smack on the ass.

PS I would NEVER hit my kids but i dont put hitting (AKA child abuse) in the same catagory as spanking

Agreed... Even though the majority child psychologists seem to think otherwise. I was never really punished like that, except once - my dad kicked me in the chest when I was about 7 years old... because I re-enacted one of Johnny Cage's most notorious moves.
