THON is a HUGE purely student-run fundraiser for kids with cancer. All of the frats and sororities go around the state and collect all fall. Last year they raised over $4 million.

It's over a 48 period where students dance straight for 48hours. Crazy stuff actually.

For the first year, they're doing a webcast and TV coverage of it locally. My brother is in charge of the webcast and got it up and running.

Every hour they do a dance that is created specific for that year (with funny things in the lyrics like Tom Cruise jumping on OPRAH's couch, Paternoville, Big 10 champs, etc.). So they'll do the dance about 46 times. It takes them a few hours to teach it and get it down.

It's a HUGE deal up here.

yep, the whole motto for THON is "For The Kids". So people not doing THON have their own little "thon". Instead of 48 hours of dancing, they drink for the 48 hours. "Drinking For the Kids!"
