Default War Party Weekend - 07-21-2006, 01:42 PM

this is my weekend to dump the wife and kids and go to a secret camping spot with about 20 or so friends. It is a shooting weekend. It is more than just fun. There will be every weapon you can imagine (all legal) more handguns and rifles than a gun shop!!! 1000's upon 1000's rounds of ammo will be spent. Shoot all day and drink all night around a raging campfire. we grill all sorts of dead stuff from buffalo to bambi. Good food good friends and the smell of gunpowder in the morning. Yeeee Haaaa a good American weekend!!! rock:

guns are fun. where do you go? can you just shoot anywhere you want, or do you go somewhere where no one is around?

cause i don't think it's legal here to just go shooting anywhere you want, have to go out into the far bush away from everyone and really rough it.

we go to a spot we have in the middle of a National Forest. It is completly safe. Pistol ranges up to 50 yards, rifle ranges up to 400 yards. Totally safe, guns are not toys but they can be as fun. The alcohol comes out after the guns are cased and put away. I have been shooting for about 30 years (I was on Livonia Michigans rifle team at age 12) and have always held saftey as priorty #1

do you have to pay to go there?

i can remember going out with my dad and my best friend and his dad and his grandpa. we shot all kinds of guns that weekend. my friends grandpa had a huge old black power rifle. that thing was loud and created tons of smoke, it was pretty cool. this was probably when i was in grade 6.

theres nothing wrong with going to the range to fire off some rounds in a fun and legal way.

people like stackem are good for guns. It's the idiots in the cities with handguns that give guns a bad name. The majority of legal gun owners are some of the most responsible people around guns, and it's all because they have been around them and educated about them. People who have never been around guns or learned about them are the most dangerous people around them.

Michigan just past a law to allow 12 year olds to hunt with a firearm, My brother is stoked.
