I could have told you many of the scenes are staged before this. There was one glaring example of this in one episode. He was going to try to cross a crevice where the rock had formed a bridge. He says to the camera, "You have to be careful when you cross something like this, because you never know what is solid and what isn't." He then jumps on the platform and runs across it. He had obviously checked it beforehand.

The bottom line is it's just a show. They're not going to risk getting the guy killed. Either way, Bear is still fucking hardcore. Any man who can drink the juice from elephant shit, and snap a live fish's spine in half with his teeth is OK in my book.

Survivorman isn't entirely truthful, either. Les Stroud inserts himself fairly close to roads or other forms of civilization. He also has a GPS w/ some sort of communication device in case he gets in a bad situation. I'm not faulting him or Bear for doing it, because their shows are still interesting.

Ooops............wikipedia.

"Escape to the Legion
Grylls filmed a four-part documentary in 2005 called Escape to the Legion which followed Grylls and 11 other UK recruits in the French Foreign Legion as they endured the month-long basic desert training in the Sahara. The show was broadcast in the UK on Channel 4,[3] and in the USA on the Military Channel."

"The programme explicitly does not claim that presenter Bear Grylls' experience is one of unaided solo survival. "

That made me lol.

Eating the dead rotting carcass of a Zebra makes him uber hardcore.

Whats up with that show now, its not on on Fridays anymore, did they change dates because Surviorman is back?

LIES AND SLANDER

BEAR STAGES NOTHING!

Even the one where he had a life jacket on under his cloths, the life jacket was using him for protection, not the other way around.
