Gotta say you are the only server my roommate and I play on, unless you are full or down!! Realism, Friendly Fire, all the maps. Great.

But I would like to lobby for fewer V2s and more beaches!!

The V2 map and the bridge take FOREVER, there are like EIGHT rounds in each of those maps. But there is only ONE round on Omaha and only like four rounds on the coolest maps like Southern France and Snowy Park.

My personal least favorite maps are, in order, The V2 Launch Site which I find monotonous; The Hunt, which is fine and all but was played to death during the demo phase; and the Bridge, which is OK too but you pretty much know where the enemy is going to be and it gets boring after like three rounds.

Why not have at least two Omahas, so the losing side can try to get revenge? Why not limit all the maps to the same number of rounds? I would think 3 rounds or 4 tops would be enough before moving on. But 8 times in a row for any of the maps gets old.

Unfortunately for me my least favorite maps all come in a row, V2, Bridge, the Hunt, and Destroyed Villiage with is a lot like the Hunt - after the rushers die the campers take forever. I do not mind the slow, sneaky get the sniper kind of play, but when the same map comes up again and again it can get really boring.

Please think about adding at least one more Omaha and cutting back on those maps that just keep going over and over and over.

I still go there but think it would be more fun if we got through the rotation faster. I know Omaha was limited just for that reason, that is why I say only one more Omaha and a lot less V-2s and Bridges.

Actually, Fledermaus, unless they have changed the rotation since yesterday, Omaha does run twice. On occasion the admins will skip a map if everyone is sick of it, and I have on occasion, but rarely, seen them skip the second Omaha.

The following is a quote from Elvite, who wrote the rotation mod Burning Bridge uses.

"The mod also allows for the user to set custom fraglimits on each map. I did this because a fraglimit of 5 is too long for Omaha, (takes well over an hour till Omaha rotates), but having a lower fraglimit only maps the other maps seem too short. So, I've set Omaha around 3 and the other maps to 5 for the official mod to come out, (this is an option, not a requirement for mod). However, each map can have a custom fraglimit, specified gametype, just about any CVAR setting you'd like can be set for each map specifically. The Burning Bridge is currently setting Omaha to 2 fraglimit, Destroyed Village and Remagen to a 6 fraglimit, and all other maps to 5: as per server admin's personal request."

The above link to our server site didn't work. Try this one, http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/on...dge/index.html

Anyways, the thoughts with Omaha only being 1 round comes down to what we've been hearing from those who frequent the server and by observations of how many people end up leaving the server when the map comes up. We want to keep Omaha in, but something needed to be done. We have put the roundlimit at 1, but increased the round time to 15 minutes. This gives Allies a better chance of being able to do something.

A lot of people have been expressing concerns that Omaha is the most unbalanced map that MoH has and is overly favors the Axis team. In fact, as long as the Axis team guards the center section within the bunker by camping the stairs on both sides, the allies seem to not have little chance at victory. Also, kill an Allied player and he spawns far away from where he needs to be (like the beach). Kill an Axis player and he respawns exactly where he needs to be. Something screwy about that. Perhaps Omaha is better balanced when not playing it with the CPR mod. I don't know.

At any rate, we just set up this new Omaha 1 round limit a few days ago. So far, yours has been the only voice opposed to the idea. We are waiting for more opinions, but the near overwhelming majority of players like the idea we're trying or wish we'd remove Omaha altogether. Jury is still out as far as what Omaha's fate shall be, but like to keep it in. What I personally wish for is that someone either mods the map or the developers change it to become better balanced. Thanks for your input.

Here's the current rotation with fraglimits.

The Hunt - 5 Rounds
Southern France - 5 Rounds
V2 Rocket Factory - 5 Rounds
Destroyed Village - 6 Rounds
Remagen - 6 Rounds
Omaha Beach - 1 Round (extended time to 15 mins)
Snowy Park - 3 Rounds
The Bridge - 5 Rounds
Stalingrad - 5 Rounds
Algiers - 5 Rounds

You'll note that Snowy Park was reduced to 3 Rounds because too many people camp and make the map seem too long. Destroyed Village and Remagen are put at 6 mostly because they are favorites amongst members of our clan. No one else seems to mind, but if the general concensus about them is that they're too long, we'll lower the roundlimit on them.

Love the server man! Only problem is, it lags badly on Omaha. Other than that everything is fine.

Thanks for the kudos. I think you'll find though that Omaha lags just about everywhere.

I'd like to have the Burning Bridge Mod. Is it available to download anywhere?

I run a monthly LAN party server and have to launch and re-launch the server every time I want to change something.
