Default Anyone using an ATI RADEON 7500 ? - 08-30-2002, 10:44 AM

I'm helping a friend pick out a new card for his AMD Duron system. He's replacing a piece of junk voodoo, and can't spend a lot of $$$. This card can be had for right about $50. (64mb agp)

Appreciate the input!

OFFTOPIC!

I would go for it. Duron itself is comparable to a Celeron processor, so a mid-range card would be perfect. Get either this, or a GF3 card.

Not offtopic. This is about playing the game. freak:

Anyway, how dare you compare the Duron to the Celeron. hake: Sure, the Duron is AMD's budget chip, but please! The Duron does what the Celeron was meant to do.

Thanks for your thoughts Joe.

Ok, I know this sounds corny, but it's not my machine; it's my friend's. I'd never be caught dead with a Voodoo anyway.

I've got an Athlon I built myself, so there. Nyah nyah nyah. lol

Sorry, I was just kidding. I have always liked AMD myself and I agree with you on the celeron thing.

I said it's comparable, meaning that the chip was designed for word processing/internet, not for gaming. They were both built for the same reasons. freak:

My second computer runs a Duron 700mhz with a 7500 64mb DDR. The only maps your have frame rate problems with are omaha and snowypark. Thats with all settings at high at 1280x1024. The frame problems were not lag producing, except on single player omaha. Runnign a lower res or less detail will likly avoid these problems.

AMD ownz Intel. But, I think the ATi 7500 will do well with a Duron.
