I can't believe they showed Gandalf in the trailer. Not everyone has read the books. And what about the ents, where are they?

and gosh darn if our comptuer geek guy at work doesnt trun out to know the whole trilogy back 2 front. what are the odds?

Odds are pretty good I read the books 4 times by the time I was 24. Had a dog named Baggins and white cat named Gandalf. It's been 20+ years since I've read the trilogy, I bought a box set of the Lord of The Rings for my oldest daughter for Chistmas. I'm going to steal them from her and reread it. I still think fantasys ever written.

Well the first "trailer" showed Gandolf at the end and this one has alot more of Gandalf

hmm, I would think a big reason to see the second movie is to find out if he was truly dead instead of getting the answer from the trailer.

Looks very cool...see that elephant looking thing with like two tusks and 3 trunks...anyone know what that is.

No Don't know that why I need or re-read the books. But did you notice the Ent( at least an ent's feet)right before the thing with the tusks. I think the the next two movies are going to be better than the first. The battle for Helm's Deep is going to be cool. And I can't wait to see what Minas Tritith looks like

The "thing" with the tusks is (as far as I can tell, I may be wrong though) an Oliphaunt (the name given it by Hobbits). The Gondorians however call it a Mumakil. The were introduced into the "War of the Ring" (which is depicted in The Two Towers) by the Harads who were summoned by the call of Sauron.

nah man i cant wait for the movies to come out.... just the trailer gave that bit away for people who didnt know.

might even buy them extended versions of the DVD i already got. the quality of the production would make it worth the while.

this man is up on his Lotr knowledge bravo wook! you beat me too it, but ya that is an oliphaunt....which is the one thing that sam wanted to see the most on the journey. von paulus has told me that the return of the king film is going to omit the scouring of the shire..... thats one of my favorite parts!!!! i would say why but i dont want to ruin it for people.
