I had nothing but fucking problems with CS2. Dunno what your downloading capability is, but I would grab CS3 post-haste - I had zero problems using that. My question though is, are you doing enough RAW-tweaking in Camera Raw to make it worthwhile? Picassa can open RAW files, and then open a JPEG/TIFF/W.E in CS2 - doesn't have the pre-post-processing power, but it should suffice.

CR2 is Canons RAW file format (I dont think theres actually a .RAW file extension). On the D80 its .NEF. You may just have to update to CS3, as CS2 Camera Raw wasn't all that great to begin with, and may not have newer camera file support.

If the problem is indeed that your version of CAMERA RAW doesn't support that file type, then you'll probably just have to find an alternative option, or somehow get an updated version of CS2. I'm sure theres a "broked" version of a CAMERA RAW update that supports CR2, shouldn't be too hard to find.

Support for the 5D was added in Camera Raw 3.3. So please make sure you do have 3.7 installed. Go to Photoshop and click on the Help menu, select About Plugins and then select Camera Raw.
Sounds like this is the route you need to go, if you want support in CS2.

a wide angle telephoto would be good. I am getting one for my backpacking trip this summer.

That is a pretty good one. I tend to not trust third party lenses though, had a few bad experiences with them in the past.

So have I. But that is a good mm length for outdoors shooting. I plan on getting a similar Nikkor lense for when I go backpacking this summer.

Thanks man, most of the pics are from behind glass, so it was really hard to get some really good shots i wanted, reflections off the glass and what not were annoying, plus some rooms were to dark and the flash ruined the pics or flashed off the glass, unless i changed angles, than the pics didnt look right. I really want a 135mm lens though.

So. Having recently found a store that was trying to push expired film for uber cheap I was intrigued. I looked up the use of expired film online and there are some amazing shots out there. I was wondering if anyone has experience using expired film, or any hints for using a film SLR as I haven't used one before.
