Default EA and EALA irc chat transcript - 11-14-2002, 07:46 PM

east.gamesnet.net #planetmoh

{IH}Mr_nStuff - EA: Is there any way you could add an IGNORE CHAT/VOICE on client# option? People can become very annoying.

[EA]Cshelton - Mr_nStuff: an ignore function is planned, as well as vote delay (so a player may only call one vote per X minutes)
**
{IH}Mr_nStuff - EA: Do you plan on bringing the Malta map back in a patch? And if so, can you make the sky higher so grenades do not disappear in it?

[EA]Cshelton - Mr_nStuff: I think we'll see malta in the near future in the retail version. As far as raising the roof, that probably won't happen. It's complicated to raise due to the structure of malta's wide open area.
**
{IH}Crimsonblake - Shelton: why did EA decide to go with gamespy aka gayspy? Everyone in the gaming community is anti-gamespy and i'm sure when your at home u choose not to use it. Will All seeing eye be locked out forever or is something in the works to include ASE?

[EA]Cshelton - Crimsonblake: I use the ingame browswer and Gamespy Arcade. I don't know why EA chose one or the other but we're talking to ASE. I doubt we "blocked" them from being able to see our games.
**
{IH}Mr_nStuff - EA: The FAST RUN speed being set AT DEFAULT will turn MOHAA:SH into Jedi Knight with a very little following.

[EA]Cshelton - the fast run speed is being misinterpreted, it is not documented well...fast run speed is actually a "sprint" mode that the player gets into after running nonstop for a short time, overall movement speed has been adjusted to 287 from 250, we will fix this in a patch. So playing on a server without fast run simply makes it where nobody sprints, you still move faster than MOHAA
**
{IH}Mr_nStuff - EA: People are strafing back and forth way to fast. And moving while crouched way to fast. Does EALA plan to patch this problem? MOH:AA was set to make moving any direction other than forward go slower.

[EA]Cshelton - Mr_nStuff: I will look into the issue, this is the first I've heard of it.
**
[MaR]Wolf - EA: dont know if im the only one that have react on the nades thing. When you come to a door and want to get a nade in then prime the nade and try to open the door ... you will be standing with a exploding nade in your hand. why is it that i cant open a door with a nade in my hand?

[EA]Cshelton - Wolf: I will look into that problem, if at all possible I would like to have players be able to open doors while priming a grenade.
**
stc_grounded - is the rifle/nade launcher in the full release?

Nashtyboy[EALA] - it will be added in the patch, slightly toned down
**
{IH}Mr_nStuff - EA: You should definitely bring back the Gewehrgranate regardless of what very few people say about it. But please make AltFire Arm & DISARM the grenade. Any plans on this subject?

Nashtyboy[EALA] - that gun is being added to the patch, but with 3 grens instead of 5, grens will do a little less dmg, and have smaller radius. Don't think there are any functionality changes being planned
**
Jonesin - OK, when you shoot somebody you (EA) has set a flinch in, right? Well, when you shoot somebody, they scoot along on their butts! lol SOrry for the crude explanation but that's what it is

[EA]Cshelton - Jonesin: ah the injured animation. We haven't seen that to be a problem that's annoying enough to remove. The animation is intentional, I guess the animator didn't realize the player would be moving at the time.
