Default MOHAA Freezing..... unlike before?? - 02-04-2003, 05:22 AM

Strange freezing problem.....

Bought UK copy of MOHAA on Boxing Day 2002, installed it fine.
Discovered Auto Configure labels in German.
Reason for German labels was EA released a silent revision, pre-patched to 1.11 and when compiling used the German source code for the configure.exe file.... ooops...

Anyway, back to the problem...

Decided at the time to abandon my copy of MOHAA and install it from my brother's (un-patched) version using my CD-Key. Then patched it to 1.11.

MOHAA has been running fine for weeks, and I completed the single-player missions, and participated in numerous online games.

However, one evening I found I was being thrown out of online games for no reason?

Decided to re-install my MOHAA using my copy (after German issue was resolved by EA). Once again it installed fine.....

BUT........

Now I can only play MOHAA for a few minutes on either single player or multi-player before my PC completely freezes without any errors.

Game simply goes static, and keyboard and mouse are dead-stick.
Resulting in a hard-boot.

Things I've tried so far....

* Updating audio and graphics drivers to latest.
* Installing DirectX 9.
* Changing the MOHAA.exe file with a friends.

I admit I don't have a powerful PC, but it worked..... until now...

SPECS

- AMD Athlon 850
- 256Mb RAM
- 40GB HD
- S3 ProSavage (on-board) Graphics
- VIA AC97 (on-board) Audio
- 32x CD-ROM
- Op. Sys: W2K Professional

Anyone any ideas as to why MOHAA should just stop working....?

Here's hoping......

Mike
