Default GeForce MX series graphics cards and advice - 11-22-2005, 03:30 PM

I have a bit of news about the Geforce MX series graphics cards for gamers.
It does not support DX9.0 or higher. Dx8.1 is as good as it gets. I had bought a MX4000/128mb PCI card. I thought it would support MOHPA. found out I needed something supported by DX9.0 or higher. I got lucky, before I tried to install ,made a goggle search on this card and came across the bad news in a forum posting. I did not open the package and I could easily return the MX4000 card and got a GeForce FX5500oc/256mb PCI card.

Just because you can run COD or MOH on your system , your card may not be able to support it. Check the game specs! Even at min requirements the game will not run properly. If game requires 256mb ram, double what you have to 512 ram or better, If game min requirements need a 128mb card double it to 256.

In the made chase to upgrade my sytem to play computer games, the price of a good graphics card, ram and processor is going to force me to by an XBox or PS2.

Thats my 2 cents on the subject.
