"Chicago Cubs C Michael Barrett (groin) could miss the remainder of the season, after having been hit in the groin with a foul tip, according to the Associated Press. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list, and in a best-case scenario, could miss between two and three weeks. The injury occured during the top of the fifth inning, Saturday, Sept. 2, when San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain fouled a ball off. However, Barrett didn't leave the game until after his at-bat in the bottom of the inning. Barrett went to the emergency room, and an ultrasound showed bleeding inside his scrotum. Surgery took less than an hour, according to trainer Mark O'Neal.
