Many sources have posted the rumour that Jeff Gerstmann was fired from Gamespot in response to his 6/10 review of Kane & Lynch, after publishers Eidos made a very large fuss.
While the internet is abuzz withrumours regarding this story, we are certain that it’s true. Our very reliable source tells us that while Gerstmann wasn’t the most popular man with the CNET owners, it was his Kane & Lynch review alone that saw him fired. You see, Eidos had just spent huge, huge amounts of money securing massive advertising across the site, skinning the entire front page with K&L commercials, along with running gimmick adverts allowing readers to cut their own K&L trailers. So a 6 wasn’t exactly the mark they were hoping for.

Wow, that's bullshit. His review seemed fair enough to me. I would think he probably has a fair chance at a lawsuit.
I use gametrailers for reviews. They seem pretty accurate for the most part, although they do fall in the same trap as everybody else by giving highly anticipated titles that suck dick scores that are a little higher than what they deserve.

he does have a good chance of a lawsuit but the problem is he has to "prove" he was fired because of a bad review. It's probably not worth it though, he'll spend so much on the lawsuit, then get rehired, but at a lower position.
he's better off selling company secrets and working for someone else.
