Man that has got to be the highest budget lowest quality WW-II movie ever, I know some of you prolly seen it already, I just did yesterday and for those of you who haven't seen it yet or waiting for it to appear on DVD don't even goddam think about picking this POS up. Please, do yourself and the humanity a favor, do not see Pearl habor, I repeat, do NOT watch Pearl habor.

It doesn't hurt to watch a movie. Let people see it for themselves. Sure it wasn't the greatest movie in the world, but it is worth every penny to see those beautiful Wings fly, also the special effects were very nice. Anybody who loves planes, learning the "Pearl Harbor" incident, or just Patriotist, go out and watch it or wait for it to come out on tape. It will keep you busy. By the way, the P-51's Look marvelous, and fly like a beauty!

"Sure, we want to go home. We want this war over with. The quickest way to get it over with is to go get the bastards who started it. The quicker they are whipped, the quicker we can go home. The shortest way home is through Berlin and Tokyo. And when we get to Berlin, I am personally going to shoot that paper hanging son-of-a-bitch Hitler. Just like I'd shoot a snake!"
- General George S. Patton, Jr (addressing to his troops before Operation Overlord, June 5, 1944)

Yes, it is a horrible move, 30 minutes of combat in a 3 hour movie.

I thought Pearl Harbor was an excellent movie if you only opened your eyes and see that it wasnt all 'blood and guts' like SPR. It was a movie for everyone to watch and to learn about what happened at Pearl Harbor. Like someone said earlier in this thread... the special effects were excellent. If you are a person that just wants 'action' and 'blood and guts' flying... this movie isnt for you.. This movie was intended for everyone.. they wanted everyone one to watch it... it was also to honor the WW2 Vets. Thats why it came out memorial weekend. This is MY OPINION.

Their was no depth whatsoever to the "Love Triangle", and It was just a poor excuse for a bar-fight, and naming the kid after "the dead guy", was really cheesy...But you may all have your own opinions...I'm with Phosphoric on this one... I should have waited for it on tape so I could use the Fast Forward button...
-Cheers

Can't you see? It's all about money. They put that love story to appeal to more people. SPR didn't have a love story because it was made to show the reality of war. How it felt to be there. I know it's not accurate in all aspects but that doesn't matter, it still gave you the feeling. Pearl Harbor was not made to show you a feeling, it was made to make money and only money. Woohah!

I actually quite liked the movie. I have to admit it did give shivers up my spine when Cuba gooding Jr. took that machine gun and started shooting at the Japs, oh and please don't correct me and tell me what kind of gun that was. I frankly don't care.
