.....people with the shotgun run way to fast.They should slow the spped down a little bit.

yah i totally agree. I hate how they can run around so quickly when you unload a magazine on them and you dont kill them. then they just shoot1 or 2 times and you die. ah!

Not to bitch at anyone, but I have come to the conclusion that I dislike the CPR mod.

This is not because I'm a shotgun wannabe. I don't use it (after having used it to begin with and pretty much realising it's a powerful and fun gun to use, but it limits your range a ton).

It's because I have managed to work out how to kill shotgun users with my weapon of choice all on my own without having to resort to making my weapon more powerful.

It just seems lazy to me that others can't just live with the game as it is and learn to use their weapons, rather than tweak them to their needs.

Now, I agree that the rifles could be tweaked a tiny bit (but not that much, I mean come on, a head shot with a rifle will kill just as fast as any other gun, if not faster, even without the CPR mod). I also prefer having only 3 grenades and rockets (although the best way to limit the bazooka and panzer's effectiveness in combat, and make them more realistic, would be to make it so you can't move while you reload them).

But why on Earth has the SMG and MGs been tweaked? Without the CPR mod I can get plenty of kills with these weapons. They're very easy to use.

With it I don't have to use any skill at all.

If there's an issue with the power of the shotgun (I don't see one myself. If you allow yourself to get within 5 yards of someone with a shotgun you deserve to die, in my opinion, that's what they are designed for) they should reduce the power of it some, rather than just copping out and making all other weapons more powerful.

You see, without the CPR mod I can get up to 3 kills (from full health targets) before I have to reload the SMG, if I aim carefully. The common complaint that you have to unload a full clip into a target to drop it is a lame one, really. This is usually because you haven't hit the torso, or head (if you even hit them at all, I see a lot of players open up completely and miss tons, then bitch about the gun, like it's its fault!).

I can also beat shotgun players most times without the CPR mod enabled, when using an SMG, too. It's not that hard to stay away from enclosed areas and keep them at a distance.

It's just annoying to spend time learning my weapon so I can over-come shotgun wannabe's (ie the players who can't use any other gun because they don't have the skill to, rather than those who use the shotgun well because they are good players; There's a difference) only to have my favourite server have CPR enforced on it.

I use an SMG mostly at present, so it can only benefit me that CPR is enabled, but I'd rather not thanks. It takes all the challenge out of the game.

It certainly doesn't promote team-play, either. It just means that now you can rush with any gun solo, rather than be careful and keep your distance to use your weapon how it was intended.

I doubt many will agree with me as it seems CPR is everyone's most loved mod, but the way i see it is as a cop-out.

Player One starts playing MoH online.

Player One tries out the rifle.

Player One does badly, and dies a lot.

Player One decides the rifle is crap.

Player One tries SMG.

Player One sees an enemy and holds down fire while desperately trying to keep his crosshair on the enemy.

Player One misses all but one or two rounds as he neglected to control his fire.

Player One thinks it must be the gun that's crap/accuses the target of cheating.

Player One finds a server with CPR mod. Guns more powerful. Ooh.

Player One happy. Has to hit less now.

A pretty cynical way of looking at it, but it's fairly accurate of the way some people approach a game.

I know someone who has mastered sniping to the point where he never stays still for a minute and keeps on his toes.

When he started using it he barely managed 10 kills a game (usually over 15 minutes or so). Now he always gets over 20, sometimes as high as 50, kills a game over the same time period.

He gets accused of cheating, which he doesn't.

To top it all off our favourite server has been changed to CPR, supposedly through relentless pressure, from the players who use it, to change.

The way he sees it is he may as well switch to SMG and rush in, seeing as you can virtually get one shot kills with the SMG if you aim well.

Realistic, perhaps (never seen someone shoot a single bullet into anyone in real life and not see them drop, at least incapacitated) but it reduces the thrill for me.

Not willing to spend the time to learn the gun is just lazy, imo.

So we won't be playing on that server anymore. Which is, of course, our right if we don't like the mod. Not worried about that, there are plenty of servers out there and will be more when MoH is released.

So long as we have a choice we'll be happy, we just hope it doesn't become the norm to have CPR enabled on all servers.

Btw this doesn't mean I think the CPR mod shouldn't exist. If people enjoy playing it then that can't be all bad. I'm just stating my opinion of it, and my opinion on the common complaint about shotguns.

I agree. This gets very frustrating at times. I'll start off with the smg or mg, hit someone 3 times, which only alerts him to my location, then I'm dead. After a few games like this I'll switch to the shotty to even the field. Then it's payback time! But it is very annoying. I think the only solution at present is the Covak-Pooter (or whatever) Realism mod. That is IF the server is using it. I have yet to play on one that was I look forward to a machine gun being as powerful as a shotgun. I mean, supposedly the developers were concerned with realism. Otherwise why not make the German rifle a semi-automatic?
