I honestly believe that any mod should not be chosen due to post count but rather time spent on the boards and temperament.
Post count does not show someone is a good mod it just shows that they are vocal. Mods that you don't really notice too much are the mods you like more.
Dodd hardly ever posted but when he did you listened (er read) and you respected him.
I'm not particularly a trouble maker so I don't feel that I need to earn a mod's respect so I don't particularly treat them any differently.
I don't see it as much of an honour, either. I'd never accept it (for obvious reasons - I don't have the temperament and I don't have the time) and I honestly pity anyone who does, particularly those who don't have a forum start date of 31st December 1969...
I'd like to wish you good luck, but there's no luck involved. Hope your new role suits you and you enjoy it. That sounds better.
