Thought I just posted this. but maybe it did not go through for some reason!

Here is the latest from pricewatch.com But I am unfamilar with these venders so I do not know if they can be trusted or what.

Please advise. Thanks.

#2 $ 289

What does THAT mean about 550 Mhz at $325? Is it artificially souped up? And if so is that a bad thing in anyway?

Please advise!

Thanks

My two cents: I'd be leaning towards the fastest card with the most on board video memory... The subtle differences between the (relatively speaking) close competitors probably won't be enough to really notice the difference with your naked eye. My Radeon 64 is still a dream to play with on the 1.4 P4 system I built back in April.

Isn't there a 128M RAM card out there? Go for it.

I am afraid most of what you said made no sense to me, as I dont know hardware at all.

Obviously any of these will be better than my 16bit Voodoo3.

I don't want to spend more than $300, but would go with that $325 one IF it will not screw non-game things up because it has been tweaked somehow.

Go with the gainward. The 550 means that they run there memory bus speed at 225 MHz. Since it's DDR RAM it clocks on the rising and falling edge, therefore at double the data rate hence 550. If your going to blow the money on Ti-500 that's how I'd go.
Personally I'm running a Ti-200 right now. It still pumps FPS's at over 90 FPS at 1289x1024(max of my monitor), and only costs $147 Cdn (I won mine in a draw though which only makes it sweeter). Anyhow that's my input.

Double Post

I'd get a Geforce 3 Ti 200.
Early reports say that Radeon 8500 has various problems with textures and sight in the final of MoH (see: Omaha beach shot).

Lovat, out of those 3 cards, if i was tight on money id go with #1. Doesnt matter about the manufacturer of the Geforce 3 ti 500, they're all basically the same card.

Hey Lovat, how much money you got to spend? That's the main factor. You could probably get a killer deal on a GeForce2 MX400 or a GeForce2 Pro. In my opinion, the GF3 is still way overpriced. They should be selling the Ti500 for the price they're selling the Ti200 for.
