Secret of Mana was the first RPG I ever played on SNES, and it owned. I skipped school to play it, and skipped church. I loved this game. I can remember the kickass music outside the Cult Temple, and the frustrating Forest of Seasons area I couldnt pass. Incredible graphics that still wow me.

And Shadowrun I just recently played - having watched my brother play it as a child. It was VERY mature for it's time, and ranked up there with Mana, Final Fantasy 3 and Breath of Fire 2 as some of the strongest RPG's on the SNES. Sadly, no sequel was made - although I think one was in production - and even though theres a new Shadowduels project coming out, no game is on the horizon, which is sad because it has a universe that is just WAITING to be plundered for this generation. The folks who created DUES EX I could EASILY see taking the reigns of this series.

Oh man I rememeber those times. The game game won't start so I'll blow into it. "Here give me that perfectly rectanguler controller with buttons that stick and ill show you how to play Zelda!". The controller sucked but the games were addictive. You would spend at least 3 hours a day on that sucker. I had more fun playing NES as a kid then I ever will messing around with some fancy system where I can hear people talk.

Actually, the trick to getting old nintendo cartridges to work properly was not
to blow air in them but rather, expel a current of very humid air. Every time I
did it, I had a working game...

The Blowing trick always worked for me.....Blow in the cartridge, blow in the console. Smack the roof of the NES console a couple times......Ready to roll.

Shit, I LOVED my NES.

I just downloaded a SNES emulator a week ago, and since then, I've clocked SMB3 (One of the greatest games, EVER.), Super Mario World, and SMB2......I'm about to have a go on the original SMB, the one I could never finish back in the day. (Level 8-2 always fucking killed me.)

....All the above games are on SNES's "Super Mario All-Stars."

I have SOOO many memories of playing NES and SNES games. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, is still absolutely stunning, and beautiful for its time......Still VERY playable.

I think the contacts on them old consoles weren't soldered in too well, so smacking, kicking, or otherwise jolting it usually solved the problem (or if it worked already, made it stop working)
