I didn't read everyone else's post, cause I'm in a hurry.

If the song just randomly breaks into a loud squelching song, it might be the new copyright protection on newer CDs. This isn't something you should run into with older songs. If someone rips the CDA to an MP3 without the right kind of software, they get a totally screwed MP3. Just an idea.

Check the options, you make have the supernode options set to something different than unlimited.
