Because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and she looks like an all American kind of girl, it also makes a good if not tacky story to raise the moral of the troops. IMHO I think it's hilarious that some people are actually taken in and believe this crap.
I also think it's an insult to those service personnel who have fought and died in this war to be overshadowed by some blonde haired, large breasted bimbo. Then again, she didn't ask to become a symbol of the cowboys war so if she makes a lot of $ out of this desperate attempt at propoganda by a bemused press then good for her.
I think you need to get the facts straight before you get all bent out of shape and say she should die etc...
1st off like many already said this was the media and government that played up this rescue. Jessica herself said that it has been overdramatized and she feels used that they taped the entire thing to use as PR. She NEVER admits to going down fighting and gives all the credit to her squad mates. She herself says that she is not a hero and that she will not take credit for something that did not happen to her. she was never shot, stabbed, raped or beaten. all of her injuries occured from the vehicle crash. There were no Iraqis in the hospital when she was rescued only hospital workers who were treating her.
That being said anyone who serves in the military and goes to war is a hero in my eyes more than many of us will ever be
so next time you feel like making some dumbass comments take a moment from bitching about how your mom hates you and your life is horrible and get to know the facts
We're not Bitching at Jessica Lynch - It isn't her fault. We're talking about the Media and the Goverment blowing this out of porportion(sp). Sure, she is a "hero" for going to war, but she was singled out and her squadmates and everyone else overshadowed. If Jessica Lynch was walking down the street everyone would stop and shake hands with her, etc. If any other of the men and women of the 506th maintence company that were captured were walking down the street, no one would know who the fuck they are.
she's the stupiedst bitch ever. WE shoulda left her there then flip her the bird from the chopper.[/quote:9b8fe]
calmdown: I think your taking this a little too far. I personally don't
feel that she is what I think of a hero to be. One the other hand, she
didn't ask for all that too happen to her. Show a little more fuckin respect,
it's not like she is the enemy. stupid:

settle down there dushbag
you actualy had a good post until you posted that crap
and another thing, i think the word hero gets used a little to much nowadays
My wifes Air Force and I can say this much at least. She will not be praying in the fire fight baby. It will be a case of empty the clip and reload.
Its not that I have no respect for the woman because Im ex Army. I know what it takes to be there in first place , but these guys are right. Way to much media for a single POW who was only there because she didnt fight back.[/quote:cd3d5]
dude who gives a shit anyway? why would you hate or or have bad feelings about her when she didnt do anything at all? she didnt direct the movie, she didnt say she went down fighting, she gave the credit to her team and the guys who rescued her. if someone offered you money for a book or movie and all you had to do was say that you were knocked the fuck out because of a car crash, you would take it too.
I was talking about this with my history teacher. He loves finding the gritty facts about what the media actually does. After Jessica was saved they wanted to interview her parents. However the parents were from the booneys of West Virginia. They look like hell and were missing teeth. The media actually paid for their dental bills just so they would look better on the camera.
