Camping (not the forest kind) - IMO

I keep reading people insulting each other and refering them as campers.

IMO, there is not such thing as camping in MOHAA... for snipers, it's their job to do this due to the weapon they have. Others might stand still in a group to protect an area, one might hide to catch an unsuspecting adversary. Since contrary to other FPS, everyone has the same chances of dying (no powerups or super strength that allows one to run around without caution)

For instance, in the V2 Rocket Facility, let's say I'm with Axis. I might want to go in an adjacent room at the top and wait for an Ally to come by, while a few others are running about trying to get some Allies. I might not get a kill or might get alot. But at least, no one came by my side and the guy(s) in the main room where able to defend the objective (part, since there is also the bottom). IMO, it's part of the game and what should drive team based scenarios.

I am in total agreement with you, I you pay attention to each class You will see that they have made it so each character has the same chance of death...

I.E. The Bazooka class is slow moving, but has heavier armor & SLOW SLOW reload times...

The Sniper also has slow re load times but can kill with 1 hit...

The Shotgun class has 5 shots, Is sirt of fast but needs to be fairly close to kill acurately...

The Machine gun class has fast shotting fairly acurate hitting abilities but moves Slow...

The Sub Machine gun class moves fat but gets recoil pretty bad & the bullets scatter, Making it harder to be acurate... And so on

Camping... You dont want campers Make a mod & destroy the meaning of this game!

Most of the time, the person who is complaining about camping doesn't realize this is not Quake. The game may be made from the Quake engine but it is not quake. If they don't like camping they should go play DM.

I would agree. Camping as it is called in this game is actually part of the game.

However, 11 *campers* on the Stanlingrad level in MP is a bit much

"Camping" does have its place in this game, strategy-wise..But you can't have ALL snipers and campers. As a participant in MP, I feel you have the responsiblity to take it upon yourself to "even" the game whenever you can...

Become a non-camper when you have a whole bunch on your team and vise-versa, switch teams when it is uneven...etc. Trust me, it makes the gaming experience better for everyone.

Ok this is killing me,what in the world is IMO?? I have heard Lmao and LOL, but never IMO. I do agree with you on the camping issue. Everyone has their own style of playing, every character has his/her own function, stop the crying and just play the dang game and have some fun. If someone is "camping", then find them and have some toasted marshmellows with him/her.

One of my fav experiences was playing in a server with like 6 total peeps in the destroyed village level. We all were snipers. If someone was camping - they would kill you but reveal their position so after you respawned if they didn't move you could run and get them back. Mostly people snuck around, checking all the places where a sniper might be and then sneaking forward more, and checking again. It worked out very well .

Only potential problem is if all of us were camping - cuz then no action. And if one stopped camping and started moving with 5 other players just sitting there waiting he would probably be the first to die. But this rarely happens cuz the maps are small enough that you run into other guys.

I've tried that village. It's a pretty amazing map. Nice blend of open spaces and hidding spaces. Wish they made a objective based map out of that one.

there is a difference between camping and defending.

if the majority of your teams force is on the offensive(rushing axis for example) it is your duty tohelp them and contribute to your team.

being the lone jackass gaurding the 88 while your whole team is on the other side of the map is contributing absolutely jack shit to your team.

also, dont forget, when all the real men have died YOU are wasting everyones time.

I agree with you. Those who claim other "camp" in MoH are usually having a Counter-Strike hangover and should go back to playing it.

I've come to the conclusion that some people will bitch about anything or anyone that kills them in a game. If you kill them with a sniper rifle, they cry foul. If you crouch behind a corner, they call you a camper. If you use the rocket launcher, it doesn't take long at all for the complaining to start.

It's just a game...have fun, or find another room.
