This is a request to all mod. authors out there. I'd like a server side mod. developed that accomplishes the following:
1) Prevents movement of snipers when using the scope
2) Changes the shotgun from the uber-weapon it currently is, to something less deadly and requiring more aiming skill at close range. I think, lowering the range and damage per "pellet" it fires will help. Also, lower the movement speed with it. Basically, as it stands now, players can pick the shotgun and rack up kills very easily compared to all other weapons except the bazooka...which brings me to my next request.
3) The Bazooka...the weapon of choice for players who can't get a kill with any other weapon. I'd like this weapon to be tweaked a bit to discourage use. Make it so they only have 2 shells to begin with instead of 6. If that isn't possible, have them move a lot slower to simulate the heavy load. Keep in mind this weapon is a anti-TANK device, not a anti-personnel so it shouldn't be that effective against people.
If 2 or 3 aren't possible, and it's easier, just remove the shotgun and bazooka as choices. On my server, most of the regulars won't miss em.
Here are actual stats of some of the guns I could find on the net. If you could tweak them in the game to more closely match I'd appreciate it.
Tommy Gun (seems fine as is):
Caliber: .45
Muzzle velocity: 280mps (920fps)
Rate of Fire: 600-725 rpm
Effective range: 50m (55yards) *might need tweaking*
BAR (seems fine as is):
Caliber: .30
Muzzle velocity: 853mps (2800fps)
Rate of Fire: 550 rpm
Effective range: 550m (600yards)
MP40:
Caliber: 7.9mm
Muzzle velocity: 650mps
Rate of Fire: 350-450 rpm
Effective range: 400m (500yards ? )

Done -- shotgun now shoots like my Mossberg 590 with 3" 0-0 buck (although it doesn't hurt your shoulder as much). IIRC the "trench guns" of old used 2-3/4" #4, but I'd like to see how this plays before I tweak it down any further.

I'm thinking about doing two things:

I made all the weapons more lethal (similar to CPR) and gave them appropriate recoil. I also made the SP settings the same as the MP settings, and I like mine better than the defaults -- although I haven't tried them in MP.
The only "gotcha" I've found was that it was impossible to get out of Schmerzen alive (four guys with STG-44s at the exit is just too much, and they either get me while I'm reloading or I make it to the train with <10 health and the snipers get me).

I think I've got lethality where I want it, am tweaking movement speeds now. Will look into disabling bazooka.

Ive got a simple idea for the bazooka. Since its an anti tank device, the blast radius should not be too big. Perhaps you could make it so that the bazooka shell actually has to hit the opposing player in order to kill him/her. I know many people rack up kills with the bazooka just by shooting it at a wall in a room neer the player and it kills them. Perhaps, you could make the blast less-leathal, only taking, lets say, 40% health away form the receipient of the blast. Only make the bazooka kill the player if it is a head on shot.
This is just an idea, maybe make it easier for you  That sounds like a good mod. Perhaps, if ya put a lot of effort into it, it could become a new 'CPR' mod, a better version than the actual CPR mod.
Im not all that great at moding, but if ya need any help with it, just let me know, and maybe i can proove to be of some assistance

Love the ideas for the bazooka. Not sure how many guys would be willing to work together to fire it though. Maybe true teams would, doubtful on pick-up players.
Blaze's idea on reducing the blast radius damage, and only giving full damage for a direct hit sounds like a winner.
With that mod, I'd be willing to keep it in.
Not sure what you mean about the shotgun tweak, Bits. Haven't fired many in lifetime, and when I do it's usually slugs vs. shot.
If you need a server to test mods on, my server is usually empty between 4-5am EST and noon EST. I'm usually up and about at those times, so I could help test and load the mod of course.
Give me a yell at warwolf60@hotmail.com if you need to. And feel free to post any and all ideas for mods, I'm willing to give em all consideration. MoH is a great game, and with a few tweaks I think it can be made a lot better.

That's kinda the point. If you have a team working, they could use it. Then again, if your team is working (as a team), you probably don't need it.

I'll have to think about that one... outside the scope of what I wanted to do right now, but possibly do-able in the future.
I just took the damned thing out. I never use it, nobody that I know that's worth a damn uses it, and I hate it when other people use it.

The default setting is something like 20 pellets at 10 damage each; 00-buck only has 9 pellets.

Aaah, a man after my own heart.
I don't own any Class IIIs (wink, wink), and my DE is "only" a .44 Mag (one of the very early IMIs), but I manage to have enough fun.
My current hobby is cowboy action -- got me a pair of Cimarrons (consec #s), a Rossi '94, and an 18" coach gun -- it's a hoot!

Ok, loaded up Bits mod, so far so good, I messed around with stuff as much as I could solo...wasn't able to run fast enough so I could get in front of my bullets to see how much damage they would do though
I'll have to wait for some people to join to test things for sure. I did notice the Bazooka still worked. Not sure if it'll disable after another player joins or not, just thought I'd let ya know.

As for the guns in the pics, they all belong to the range  I have to go up to NH to shoot, since MA is super restrictive.
I wanted to fire the MP40, they had it listed on their website, but it wasn't available when I got there  They also had the M1, but it wasn't using the clips from the game...and I really wanted to hear that: PING!
We did get that DE .50 again though, good lord you do have to be a Agent from the Matrix to keep that thing under control!
List of guns I've fired so far:

Sig P226
Glock (various, but don't like em)
Walther PPK
MP5, with and without the silencer
UMP 45 (damn sweet gun, very little recoil)
Benelli shotgun (firing slugs, but nice and accurate)

AK47 (semi-auto)
Desert Eagle .44 & .50
Raging Bull revolver (not keen on revolvers)
one time I did get a chance to go John Woo style with two 1911s, that was some fun stuff!
