I downloaded the single player demo and it works very good. Is this a good indication of how the full version will work?

It should. The demo ran like a dream on my PC at home and the full version worked even better.

strange thing is, omaha wasnt much of a problem for me, but the 1st mission lags like hell with the MG-42 for some reason. could be a memory leak or something.

For me, the demo ran a little choppy while the full game ran fine, even in higher resolutions. *BUT* keep in mind I upgraded my RAM between the demo and the full version.

The full game should run almost exactly like the demo did, since the demo is pulled straight from the game. The most noticable slowdown in the game comes in two levels near the very end, while most of the levels actually perform better than the demo level.
