GeForce 2Ti 64MB DDR AGP =£59.00/£69.32
3D Prophet 4500 PowerVR KyroII 64MB AGP
=£54.00/£63.40

Radeon VE (RV100) 64MB AGP=£42.00/£49.34

i would only shell out more if it was worth it and made a big difference in comparison to the other 2 cards, which one????

Miyagi,I have just recently built a machine for myself and the G-force 2 Ti 64MB Was on my spec list and I recomend it highly. The Graphics are smooth and I have had no problems with it so far. Yes to the G-Force 2 Ti 64MB. |

Personnally, if you have the budget, go with either a Geforce 4 Ti 4600 or a Radeon 8500. Why not start at the top instead of in the bottom? |

I have a GeForce2 Ultra 64mband am having serious lagging problems when I get on to the beech at Omaha I love the Obj games but as soon as Omaha starts it just starts to slow down til it becomes unplayable.. I have turned all the settings to min with no improvement and if I stay in the buildings all is okish..I have the latest Nvida drivers and am running Win Xp..
I have 1.4 ghz pent 4 with 384 mb ram so it should not be so bad .. oh my connex is cable with an upload od 450kb/ps and a download of 750kb/ps (its on a 4 mb BT megastream fibre Optic line) so it must be the Gfx Card .. any ideas as to what to do ?

well on my other pc i have a 64mb geforce2 mx400 video card and the thing i did to help my fsp was most definately TURN OFF ANTI-ALIASING and ANISOTROPIC FILTERING in the advanced button on the settings tab in display properties. it boosted my fps from bout 20-25 to 40-50 instantly!!!
i also turned off shadows and dynamic lighting which can slow things down.
hope that helps you in some way!
happy fraggin.

Man, I get bad FPS (shudder) with a GeForce3 Ti200 with 64 MB DDR. Is my 950 Celeron that bad, got ATA100 HDD, and 384 MB RAM, but I the L2 Cache is only 128 MB. For 200 CDN, I can get a 1200 with 256 L2. Should I go, or try to tweak (1024X768) with lots of stuff on high? What kind of system do you need to run the game on the highest settings ??

i'd say u need to run everything on max is at least a 800mhz processor, 256 ram, a 64mb geforce2 mx400/gts/ultra.thats my guess.
on my other pc-p4,1.5ghz,256ram,64mb geforce2 mx400 it runs at around 40 fps on max apart from shadows and dynamic lights which i turned off as there not much use 2 me.

quote:
Originally posted by Sniper Wolf:Heh, this might be a bit off-road but i got the good ol' Geforce 256 DDR, 650 mhz Pentium III and 256 SDRAM, it works good although i need to decrease some settings, mainly the color ones. But unfortunately, it does lag, I have usually some 15 fps in combat, lesser in Omaha about 8 usually and this is in a GOOD SERVER, so dont whine if your FPS is under 20

ah but there is a big difference between 256 and 64mb DDR Ti cards, i should get about 25-50 i reckon, constant! so there, thanks for the comment tho
