Story:

I work at a computer fixit store. A month or so ago, some guys computer died, we got him a "new" one (200mhz, Win95). I did a crap job on it, and it wasnt set up right. CD rom didnt work, I didnt test it, yes, I admit it, it sucked. I was rushed, blah blah blah. He brought it back in, and my boss was pissed. Boss left. Computer has no data on it, besides the OS. EVERYTHING about this computer is crapped up, and is gonna take a buttload of time to fix. Unless... out comes the external powersupply, at 30volts. Zap goes the CPU.

Would you have done the same thing to save your butt? The guy didnt pay for this computer, it was a trade thing for an ad in his crappy newspaper. He had no data on it. The computer blew chunks, and would take forever to get it working. Yes, I know it was "wrong" but I want to hear what you guys woulda done. Me? I'd do it all over again.

2: It was the first time (he got the computer at least a month ago) he tried to use it. It was hardly even his. He was bringing it back in, and we'd have had to fix the damn thing for free. It would have taken forever, and old pieces of shit like that (not the guy..., the computer) deserve to die.

Anyway, its 5 to 1, currently biggrin:

He didnt pay a dime for it.

He never has paid money for the work we do for him. We get a little ad in his crappy newspaper he prints at home.

I was going to get seriously hounded by my boss for doing a bad job in the first place. He's a Type A personality sorta guy, and you dont want him mad. So, a "bad" motherboard explains all the problems it was having, makes it easier for me, the guy gets another "new" computer with stuff that fucking works, for FREE, and its all good.

It wasn't for "no reason": he was covering for prior mistakes that could have
cost him his job. In a way, it's an ingenious solution to the problem because
he gets to keep his job, lay the blame on faulty electronics AND the client
loses nothing: in fact, he'll most likely be rewarded with a better system.

I'm not condoning his action but there was a certain merit in it.

your all fucking tards except for Soli, don't you guyz read properly ? Yes it was the right thing to do, those old P2's are not worth the reapir time, im also sure a new comp for this guy will do more justice, its also free so that is a bonus, and the guy had no info on it.
