i have a couple of questions that i always thought about . first is how long did D-day last , like for example how long would an allied soldier stay fighting untill the allies took the beach completely , and which beach lasted longer to conquer , not which one was tougher , but which one lasted more till they got to relax . second is what kind of relationship did the russians have with the rest of the allies , like did they discuss war plans or times of battles and where did they do it , like did they send representatives to the UK or something ? third is what kind of bird is that , that germany had as a monument/statue with the wings , that you see in books and shows .
I can answer your question about the Russia and her allies..
I know for a fact that America/Britain/France HATED the Soviet Union, BUT since hitler backstabbed Stalin, they became allies and USA/France/Britain thought, let stalin keep em busy in the east while we have it out in the west.. so it kinda happened in a wierd way.. If Hitler didnt backstab stalin, then maybe those 2 would of became powerfull allies
Omaha lasted half the day, and it was the longest. The other beaches fell within 30 minutes...others it took up to an hour.
The Yalta conference is where the leaders of each country met, and discussed war plans. You know the picture of Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin, sitting in the chairs, beside each other...that's from one of the conferences.
Yeah Hitler violated the non-aggression pact as it was it called. For some reason the name Russo-German non-aggression pact sounds familiar. I think it gave Russia more land if they would not invade Germany. Stalin knew it would not last but he did it anyways because he got some more land. That's some of my knowledge from Social Studies last year.
