i disagree, sirius is incredible and not too expensive at all, in return you get great sound quality and amazing uncencored, commercial free variety of tons and tons of music...there is always something on somewhere as long as you are open to different kinds of music

its good for people who are in the car or the office a lot (if they have the adapter thing)

but i recommend sirius highly, its what the radio should be like

you should consider looking into a head unit and not one of those fuking add-on type things ... from my experience the head units are much more clear. the add-on bullshit is staticy as all shit ... so much so its not even worth listening to. i had one in my car and gave it away...

I have a Sirius radio and it's the best thing I've ever bought. I love it. The one that I have is a unit that you can take out of the car and plug into a boom box. I listen to it in the car and then bring it in at night and use it as my alarm to wake up to in the morning. I also bought another unit for my daughter that is in college. Her's is hard wired into her Jeep. She really only listens to it when she's going back and forth to school.

As for sound quality, mine is crystal clear most of the time. However, I'm using a unit that broadcasts on a radio frequency to the car radio. I only have four frequencies to choose from. The only city that this has been a problem in is the city where my daughter goes to school. There is an existing station on all four channels! That's why I chose to get her the hard wired unit. She gets perfect reception.

In Atlanta I get perfect reception on mine, and I love the "take it with you" aspect of it. I listen to alot of college football on it (that's one of the reasons I chose Sirius - Alabama games are not on any of the local radio stations) and I listen to the games on my deck with the boom box and a beer.

I've also listened to live Jimmy Buffett concerts (the Radio Margaritaville channel) while sitting on my deck with my wife. There's nothing like listening to Buffett with a cold one and enjoying a great summer night ... and I usually have a cold beer too.

I use Siruis Satelite Radio. cheaper than XM. We get great coverage even in wooded, mountanous, and most parking garages.

Im never in my car or listening to the radio enough to "pay" for a radio service.

But I believe Col. travels alot in his car so it would be perfect for someone like that. I listen to maybe 35 minutes of radio a day.

Yep. My sales territory has changed so instead of flying every week I drive about half the time. With the security at airports and the time it takes to get there, get through security etc, I drive if the first city on my trip is four hours away by car. it adds up to alot of windshield time.

I find they loop songs to much.. A mainstream hip hop station played piggy bank by 50 cent 7 times in a 8 hours span once.. Fucking pathetic. I just keep to my mp3 player to be truthful *I would find it worth it if i ever listhened to sports or Stern ect..

Im looking at getting this [url:ad972]http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10068746&catid=2363 9&logon=&langid=EN[/url:ad972]

I dont care for sound quality too much, as long as I can hear a program im cool. I do about 1 1/2 hours of driving a day and I love listening to talk radio and comedy, I use to allways just load stand up comedy and talk radio show on my Ipod and listen to it while im driving. I think this will be better for me because I guess I dont really need to upload and download stuff for my Ipod.

How are they hooked up to your car? like the unit im looking to get.

I think that one is similar to what i have (only a newer model). If you get it installed by a professional they will run a wire from your Sirius radio, behind the dashboard, and into your car radio. Plus, since it is a "Plug and Play" you can connect it to your existing stereo and play it through your stereo speakers! (or buy a boom box)

The reason that mine is not hard wired to my radio (which causes my problems in that one city - keep in mind that I drive all over NC, SC, AL, GA, North FL, TN and MS and I only have a problem in one city) is that I thought I would take it out of my car and put it in my wife's for trips and stuff. But I don't ... so I probably oughta get it installed right ... except for the other reason I didn't do it, which is because I'm a cheap SOB and I figured why pay somebody when I can just plug it into my cigarette lighter and go.
