BF1942 HELP!!!!!

I downloaded the demo and it refuses to run!
The screen flashes and then it's like I never told it to start at all!

My specs:

P4 1.7 GHz
512 MB RAM
32MB Geforce2 3d card
etc.
etc.

I assume its your vid card... read the read me....

The Geforce 2 is the second card on the list of supported cards in the readme, so I seriously doubt that.

I downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia and it still doesn't work, anyone know what's wrong???

BTW I am running Windows 2000 professional

no I just forgot to put direct X 8.1 on this machine, I am at the university and I have a practically identical machine which I use to play every once in a while when I have free time but don't want to go home.
