Default Trojan Downloader - 12-16-2005, 11:31 PM

My friend has a what Norton calls a "Trojan.Downloader" it says it is also called "Trojan.Downloader.Win32.Getfiles" but it can't remove it. The Norton website says to update the norton av and scan it and then go into the registry and delete all the files that the scanner says are associated with the trojan. The problem is, the scanner isn't telling me what files are associated with the trojan so I don't know what to delete. Thanks for any help in advance.

(Also, it's his mom's computer so I can't do any warez or anything illegal on it. She has Norton AV and Microsoft Antispyware, neither are helping)

adaware,
spybot search and destroy

Try both of these. These combined can usually fix most problems

Ad Aware didn't detect it, I think because it's not spyware. I didn't try spybot, I'll try that.
