Welcome to the modern Media/Political think scape. Nuance is dead.

Not saying its new to me, just informing some of the readers about how media spins everything for the wrong reasons. And what the truth is in this matter.. Talking to some of my friends most of them voted conservatives, and they were going to vote NDP as well...

Oh yeah I know, it's the same over here. People don't bother to find out on their own instead they rely on the mostly bullshit fed to them by mass media and political spin. The society we live in doesn't promote being investigative, instead it promotes the "easy way".

For example...When Grover Cleavland was running for president, the hot button issue of the day that "divided the nation" was tariff reform. Now a-days it's gay marriage and abortion. People don't want to discuss things that matter they want to discuss things that are easy to understand and "sexy".

Meh...

Noam Chomsky wrote in one of his books that it was the duty of every citizen in a democratic nation to become informed about all the issues, and all you have to do is dig through some stuff on the net to reliable sources. Unfortunately people find this unecessary and turn to a source such as a newspaper which more or less is owned by a leading corporation.

Don't you love democracy, and where it's heading?

Paul Martin was a part of the Chretien Government as Finance Minister from 1993-2002.

The election seemed to me to play out much like the US election minus the great number of vote manipulation etc.

People in the states voted for Kerry because they didn't like bush, not because they liked kerry.

People in Canada voted for Harper because they wanted to punish the liberals, or were tired of "corruption" in government and wated a change, not because they thought Harper and the conservatives were the best party to run the country.
