... well this whole thing about the release of 'US abuse images' is based on the ACLU. People have been blamed, and punished ... apparently 30+ was not enough and 4-5 months was not long enough wait. Things like this fuel anti-US feelings, and causes more violence.

the point of printing teh prison photos is to expose what is going on over there after Bush has repeatedly said that torture isnt going on.

cartoons are cartoons, they are ok to print too...

and those photos are from the same event, is not like a new thing happen, they are releasing old pictures. Is like Paris Hilton releasing Hr 2 of her video from that one night.

i thought these were new images, thats what the thread says eek:

that does change my opinion a bit, but not to where i think that they should be supressed or that any new images should be as well, but i think they were released to bring this back to the media attention again. still, they wouldnt be in the media if torturing wasnt going on. its kinda hard to blame people for exposing old and new behavior when its this graphic.

Media is such a potent tool nowadays, what with the ability to display visual media in a shitload more extra places than was possible a decade ago. Releasing images from an "isolated incident" over a year ago, is just as effective in stirring up the shit as it would have been releasing them with the other pictures that were initially provided to the public.
