sorry i derailed your thread. ontopic: i mountain bike and i would never do that. Fastest i've been on my bike is about 60km/h going down a hill on the road. kinda cool keeping up with cars, but i don't think i want to go much faster than that. infact, i don't think my bike will go much faster than that.

At that speed, if heavier, it would begin digging into the soil i'd assume. Lighter bike kinda float on top of the soil.

at that speed, I cant imagine the relatively marginal weight difference would effect that, tho.
