Default Grade my sigs (lots of pics) - 09-11-2002, 04:18 PM

I have been making a lot of sigs lately. I was looking for some input on which ones people liked the best. The first 7 were made with Ulead PhotoImpact and 8-14 were made with PhotoShop 7.0.

It doesn't take a lot of skill. I haven't had any teaching on any of these programs. I just got photoshop and I have only been using it for about a week. The best way to learn is just to try different things out, see what looks good. A good sense of design is all you really need. Most of the early sigs I did were real easy, it's mostly just finding a few pics and putting them together in a way that looks good.

The background is just a texture picture. It looks like this.

Over that the 2 guys are from an antique daguerreotype photo, there is also transparent type in the background. I usually start with a background like that texture then I add images on top of that with various levels of transparency. I also add a little bit of hand "painting" on top of it all. I work with a lot of different layers, then when I am done I usually merge them all and then adjust the brightness, color, and contrast. Then I will go back and add more layers if it needs more work.
