HELP!! -
10-12-2002, 05:14 PM
Hey guys I'm ahving serious hardware trouble here.
I've got a 1200 mhz AMD athlon
640 megs SDR-SDRAM
GeForce 4 Ti4600
21 Inch dell monitor
5 piece sound system
a7a266 mobo
SB Live! value
Yeah, an awesome system.
The thing is, I'm getting AWFUL performance.
For example, in Half-Life, when Geforce 2 users get 100 fps, I get 50 fps, and when they get 60 fps, I get 20 fps. I've got a Ti4600 for fucks sake!
I get sub-par performance in MOH:AA hake:
I have a 3d mark score of 5,000, thats horrible for such a ssytem as mine. I've tried all tweaks, I've corrected the ALi AGP problem, yet I still get cruddy FPS. My refresh rate is fine, so no 60 hz bugs.
Can you guys please help me out. I payed 300 bucks for a reason, not to get this shitty performance.

I'd have to sit down in front of it and check things out ...
Make SURE all of the proper settings are selected in your BIOS. That's
pretty much all of the advice I can give you man. Everything else is self
explanatory.
Good luck with your problem though guy...

I think the BIOS settings are OK. I checked around 20 million times, but everything is fine, unfortunately the problem isn't that easy.

Hrmm...
I really wish I could help you but unless I sit down in front of the pc, I can't
do much: do you have PC Anywhere or Remote Assistance? Also, are your
components no-name or well known brands?

My components are not no-name
I have an AMD proc, an NVidia card, and asus motherboard, a creative soundcard. Pretty damn named, if ya ask me.
