This question is mainly saying why dont you beileve in the Christian Religion. A whole bunch of people in these forums are Atheists, and i want to know why.
NOTE: This is a simple non-harmful question....pleaase no flames.

Basically because i dont see the whole concept of God being up there everywhere at the same time watching everyone, deciding everyones fate, as being at all plausible.
Im much happier with the idea of evolving from monkey type things rather than god making adam and a woman made from adams rib.
I dont beleive that one day god will come down and we will have to answer to him - because i dont beleive in such a being, i dont beleive if im bad i will go to hell. I dont beleive in reincarnation, except for if youre buried you might fertilise the grass, or if your ashes are scattered they might blow back into someones eye and cause them pain.
I want to be cremated when i die, and when i die i belive that thats the end of the road for me.

I am a non-believer because if there was a divine and holy being out there, then why is all this horrible shit happening?

OK, but Jesus did come down once already....and he said He would return.
So what do you think will happen after you die? nothing?

I object the phrase "but jesus did come down".
That is you stating that jesus DID come down, and therfore insinutaing anything i say is wrong. I chose to beleive that things like that just dont happen. i am not saying jesus didnt come down, however i dont beleive he did.
If you had read my post i said when i die thats the end of the road for me.

Here are some theories:
Nature has a mix of good and evil (thorns have roses; dolphins live near sharks; a leopard kills for fun but is gentle with its cubs). And we humans have a mixture in us - we can give to charity and an hour later yell at someone we love.
Looking at the natural world (and yourself) is a bit like finding a computer with a virus. You see the careful, intelligent design but you can see it has a bug.
And, Jesus once said, ''Rain falls on everyone, good and bad.''

i'd like to believe theres something fantastic and unreal after we die, another life, however organised religion is just plain brainwashing.
its a fact that thru humans history we've learnt, adapted and grown more intelligent over thousands of years. when we've not had answers for things, we've always theorised, tryed to explain it in only ways we know how to. since propererly scientific answers had never been available to people hundreds/thousands of years ago, they had to put faith in something to find their answers. no-one has ever had answers, so her comes this book some fucking genius wrote and so it provided answers and stories that everyone could relate to. it provided excuses to humankinds inexperience. with this new faith and hope in the book, people could live by it, swear by it coz it can answer so many answers to the misinformed, its popularity and propaganda spreads over the world. people have faith in it. therefore its all organised and manufactured in a way..
