THE TRUTH ABOUT EA. -

Spearhead.. Another unfinished product by EA.
EA gets the ball rolling on a cool product, puts a nice package on it, takes your money and takes more of your money and laughs to the bank.. This is the pattern. For those of you that give EA credit for MOH .. Don't.. EA is just a publisher and are not codders/programmers ... EA didn't write MOH any more then Stephen Kings publisher wrote his novels..
Having a background in Bus Ad.. let me tell you EA is nothing more then a group of very rich brand managers.. And these managers are very much out of touch with the products they manage on a user level.. Moh for instance the actually company/programmers of MOH could have taken the game to amazing heights.. instead.. EA just looked for the shortest route to get a buck and using the tried and true capitalist loophole that you can sucker a customer by flahsy advertising and hype.
EA has taken this course of action to maximize its profits.. pubish someone elses work.. get alot of money .. and dont support that product at a user level..
EA has chosen this business model. History has taught EA that customers have a short memory and forget quick when it comes to flash (esp true since it sells to minors).. Ea gets in the door with cool ideas cocepts and brand management in marketing products that are unfinished. By the time the cusotmer realizes the product is unfinished EA already has your money. Rinse Spit Repeat. EA has set up bus.model that maximizes profit by bypassing the process of finishing/polishing improving it's product.
Ea is even looking for new ways to screw it's end user for a buck.. the recent notion being making inferior 3rd party browsers (gamespy) proprietary.
Fool me once shame on you.. fool me 20 times in a row I must be an EA customer..

Ya, old news buddy... the fact of the matter is EA makes (publish) the games people want, and for the most part they are good. Only the games could have been so much better if they gave a damn about public feedback and supported their games WITHOUT Ex. Packs. Yes EA sucks, but that is how the American market works... It's really too bad but blame the right wing buck chasing morons like Bush, not EA.

I'll reiterate -
BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!
You want a "finished" project, then YOU test it for - oh lets say - 5 years to make sure that the project satisfies EVERY possible client base, not simply to get the bugs out, but to make sure the game is accesible to EVERY single pissant with a "weapon/map/balance/bullshit" gripe. SH is FAR from perfect, and there are some frustrating aspects of the game. On the whole however, they could have done ALOT worse, and put ALOT less effort into the game than they did. You think they screwed the pooch on this one fine - but to say that they go out of their ways to intentionally screw the consumer as if they have a PERSONAL vendetta gainst their consumer base is so ridiculous and trite it really makes me wonder HOW hairy your palms REALLY are.

Aww..crap, Ed. You had to say something I agree with for once.
Personally, I dont think spearhead is much of an improvement, but most expansion packs dont add anthing to the game other than new SP missions and maybe some MP maps. That is exactly what spearhead is, with a few bonus changes like new skins, weapons and MP server options.
IT IS AN EXPANSION PACK, NOT A SEQUEL!!!!!!!!!! If it was a sequel, it would have been called Allies Assualt 2, or return to allied assualt, and it would have been a new, stand alone game. You guys seem to have new game expectations of an over priced expansion pack (althoug I am sure I will get my money's worth.

I feel the need to weigh in. They distribute, we buy. End of discussion. If we don't like it, for whatever reason, don't buy. If that means we can't get the games we want, so be it. Perhaps this just means that there is no game for PC that is totally cool/totally done. It's a crying shame, but it's the way things are.

MSC SniperX get off of your ego fueled horse and step back down to reality. If you're so educated in the ways of business you should also know that garnering the support of a pile of pre-teen posters on some message board (NOT EVEN LINKED TO EA IN ANY WAY) is going to get nothing done.
You want a superior product? You think 'what the customer wants' is so important?
YOU START A BUSINESS AND KEEP IT RUNNING.
I can promise you a lot of smarter people than yourself have tried to do just that; and failed.
If you try to please every little boy who wants something your company will fail. Sometimes, in business, you have to just say 'Here it is' and not bend on what you are offering.
EA gives you a few patches which give you the base for a great game. MOH:AA is stable, and is very well done. MOH:SH WILL BE STABLE AND VERY WELL DONE.
Stop your whining; when EA releases a patch to fix all of the things you bitch about you'll just find something new. You love to put down people who can do something you can't. BUILD A GAME.
Go try to program anything. Program a currency convertor in notepad using PERL and see how easy it would be to build a game that way.
You're just another in a long line of pissers and moaners. Another reason getting feedback on a product is next to impossible when your fan-base is a pile of confused little boys.
