Ya know, I was wandering through the international network and discovered even more WWII games coming out. At one time, people were saying that there weren't enough games about WWII, how could a topic so rich in possibilities be overlooked? Well, now WWII games are almost a cliche. Games like MoHAA, IL-SturmvokII (sp?), Battlefield 1942, Hidden & Dangerous 2, Deadly Dozen, RtCW, new versions of WWII Online, are garnishing attention, while there are numerous others in production, the GI one, 3D WWII, numerous mods coming out for games like Flashpoint, Rogue Spear, Half-Life, Quake II, Unreal, etc. It's become cliche... and the worst part is that there are still two theaters of war almost unused, the Russian Front and the Pacific theater. I'd like to see games about those, well... I'd like the Pacific more, but I'd still play in the Russian, and there are games coming out with the Russian front, the new Combat Command game, well where's the Pacific? Still, is this whole using WWII a bad thing? Especially in these times when it might be good to reflect upon such a time. Now, this isn't a question as to what theater you'd like to see more, that's been done... numerous times... and it got really... really... really... REALLY annoying. No, this is a question as to whether you think that WWII is becoming a cliche in gaming.
